When you are driving towards it, it looks quite small, and once you reach it and start climbing it, you realize it is not as small as it seems. It's quite a work out getting up to the top, but once you're up there, oh man, it's amazing! the view of the surrounding area is spectacular. I loved it! It... More

Queribus (care-E-bous) lords over the surrounding valleys, drawing your eyes and interest up in wonder of what the chateau has seen over many hundreds of years. There is a carpark and a small booth at the base of the chateau. Plan 60-90 minutes to climb up and explore the rooms and spaces in this Chateau. It is a steep path... More

You wonder how they built these places! It's actually quite an easy walk up to the castle, but then it's steep stone steps up from the entrance to the top most part. Quite hair-raising in strong winds.

Queribus is majestic and a highlight of the Pyrenees. It should not be missed, even if only for a close-up view. The drive up to the parking lot can be difficult, and you need good supportive shoes to hike up.

We arrived at Chateau de Queribus in foggy weather. In place of the amazing view, we found ourselves looking out over a valley filled with fog, with invisible hunting dogs baying in the distance. It was very mysterious and beautiful. The castle ruins themselves were interesting but it is the site and the Cathar history that is most fascinating. Don't... More

Easily accessible by road to the car park at the foot of the castle. Refreshments, gift shop, and toilets are available. A steep path up not really suitable for wheelchairs and the Chateau is not suitable for the disabled as there are lots of steps. A fairly small Chateau but does have an audio guide, a pamphlet, and names on... More

Excellent castle - bit of a climb up to it though - built on top of hill for defensive reasons - quite windy too - views magnifcent

Worth the trek. A small but dramatic castle perched on the top of steep cliffs. The walk up is short but steep. The views from the top are not to be missed!

It's a steep old climb from the carpark on a shingle/rocky surface, but worth the effort for the views alone. Once up there it's an interesting walk around the old ruins and amazing chapel with lovely vaulted celiling and huge arched window. Fantastic views all around as this castle is perched on the very top of an outcrop, you can... More

Even if you are not the best at walking up to these Cathar chateau, then this one is worth the trip. Apart from the views there is a lovely chapel ruin with vaulted ceiling.
