My wife and I had only one day to spend wine tasting in Mendoza on our way from Buenos Aires to Santiago, so we hired a great private guide and let him pick our stops. Ruca Malen was the third of four wineries we visited, and a wonderful place for lunch. There are two dining rooms at the winery. One... More

We did not go to Ruca Malen for the wine, but we were expecting it to pair reasonably well with what we heard was an exceptional meal. Unfortunately there was not much to rave about from either the food or wine. The wine was simplistic, lacking any defining characteristics, other than an overuse of oak. The food, while attempting to... More

Great way to spend the day. Nice and prompt tour of the grounds followed by an unbelievable lunch. Seriously the lunch was out of this world good. The wines were ok, nothing too special in my opinion. We had some major sediment in a few of our darker wines of the tasting menu, which was a pretty big negative. Besides... More

Gourmet lunch prepared for the season was superb. The service was excellent and the wine divine. Definitely put this vineyard on your list.

We enjoyed a 5 course lunch paired with wine that was amazing. One of the best meals we had in Mendoza. Expensive but well worth the money. Everything was prepared and presented magnificently. Very different from your regular steak dinner. The wines were equally as good as the food. Wine tour was interesting as well. Highly recommended.

The winery is pretty far out of the City of Mendoza, it was well worth the trip out there. I had not realized just how far away it was, so I recommend making your travel arrangements prior to getting there. We did the tour followed by the lunch, the tour was very nice and the guide spoke english well. The... More

Ruca Malen was the fourth winery we visited that day, and we were ready for lunch. Instead of a menu to order from, we were given an overview of the upcoming lunch to explain the pairing of the wine with each of the courses. Each course was more magnificent than the last, and you could truly understand that wine that... More

Very high quality lunch with paired wines in a great outdoor location in the vineyard. Not cheap but definitely worth it.
