Spent a couple of days here and was really impressed. I have been hanging around tropical oceans all my life and the reefs, coral and fish here were some of the best I have seen anywhere in the world. I went diving 3 times and saw wide variety of settings and sea life. Best was a drift dive in strong... More

As my roots are originally from Negros Oriental, I have always made sure I visit Apo Island at least once a year and for the many times I have visited this beautiful place, I am still captured by its beauty as if it is my first time. Even if we took the public bus going to the port, it was... More

We visited ona day-trip organized by Liquid Dumaguete on Negros. Our boat was a mix of divers and anorkelers. Two of the three sites at which we anchored were brilliant for snorkeling -- the best we found in the Philippines in terms of both coral and fish. The third site was worthwhile but a little toop deep for excellent snorkeling.

I stay in nearby Dauin and take banka and travel all the way down to Apo Island for diving. The one way trip time is around 1 hr and a little bit bumpy. But it is paid off when arriving Apo island. The diving there is good a lot of things to see. I saw a sea turtle, frog fish... More

Th marine reserve itself is on the east side of the island and is closed (as of Nov 2012), However, you can walk along the coral sand beach, which is very peaceful. On teh otehr hand, snorkellign can be done an the estern shore of the island, which is fantastic! We saw turtles every time we snorkelled.... and lots of... More

We stayed at Liquid and took our snorkeling excursion with them. The boat ride was enjoyable and relaxing. Unfortunately we did not see much fishes or any sea turtles whilst snorkeling. They may have gone into hiding because of the onslaught of Pablo typhoon 2 days ago. {We were stranded in tanawan oslob (we swam with the whalesharks before the... More

If your into Diving - say no more this place is unreal. Highly recommend staying with Mario's Diving and doing the course there. Heard a couple of people having bad experiences with a narky dive master in Liberties. Mario himself is a patient and genuine guy and was brilliant to work with. Got to see a Manta Ray which is... A choppy boat ride brought us to Apo Island, where we swam with tortoises. Guided by the locals, many of whom are entrepreneurial, be sure to have lunch in Liberty Community Hotel which serves excellent jack fish. You don't need the locals to guide you as you snorkel, but your boatman can point the way to the tortoises. It's a... More

The actual marine reserve was closed during our visit..but i guess the part where we saw a BIG Turtle is still part of the marine reserve. In less than 5minutes of snorkeling, a BIG Turtle welcome us to Apo Island. The animal was busy eating when we saw it, I had a huge grin on my face while snorkeling. Happy... More

My family and I took a day trip from Coco Grove Resort in Siquijor, which included a couple of snorkeling trips around Apo Island and a lunch buffet in their sister resort located in the island itself. THIS was the highlight of our trip this year! First, we went to the marine sanctuary where we were able to snorkel with... More
