We went in october, the weather was great and could see the grapevines loaded with fruit (they are collecting the grapes this time of year). The visit was nice, and the building is impressive work by Calatrava.

The silhouette of the bodega is not even as stunning as the innerworkings at Ysios that create astounding Rioja's outside of Laguardia. Easily the best winery visit I've ever been on and the wine speaks for itself in a very clear and precise way that is lovely and elegant yet simply magical. Now I understand what Rioja is all about!
Great modern design winery worthy of a tour, but not old school (no caves, all bottles stored in warehouse)
The bodega is a lovely building, designed to fit into its site among the vineyards at the foot of the mountains. Inside it is equally stunning with lots of natural wood and a beautiful ceiling. The visit costs 12euros but the samples at the end of the very informative tour are of expensive wines, one retailing at around 50euro/bottle. This...

Can't beat the waves of the building which were built to emmulate the mountains behind. This winery only bottles a small amount which never leave the country. Even if you aren't a wine expert make sure to book a tour here.
I had read about Santiago Calatrava's architecture here at Bodegas Ysios and wanted to make a stop just to see it. It is stunning! We did not make an appointment so the winery was closed but it was still worth the visit to admire the architecture and take photos. It is close to Laguardia, a beautiful hilltop village that should...

Interesting visit with well-informed guide, and the wines are excellent value. Modern style Rioja, approachable and with good potential
We went to this winery just to view the architecture and found a wonderful wine. Our tour was great and the guide was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely look for this wine in the states. I loved the opportunity to walk to grounds and enjoy the view of the whole winery. A great photo opp.
Firstly make sure you make a reservation, otherwise you will be turned away!
The architecture is stunning and you can see it from Laguardia. Unfortunately you cannot just taste their wines and have to do a tour. This took around 30 minutes. The guide was informative but there are better tours in the area. The wines are OK but also...

The architecture of Ysios winery is simply stunning and alone is worth the price of admission. I recommend emailing in advance to reserve an English language tour. The tour guide was very good, but we didn't love the wines. If you are staying in Laguardia, walk down the hill to this winery - it's a nice 30-40 minute walk on...
