We have been there several times but were never impressed, neither by quality of the works on display nor by the display itself.
This is a must-see museum in Alicante. It was recently renovated and nicely done to use natural light, simple lines and minimalistic colors. They always have temporary exhibitions and a wonderful permanent collection from local artists. When in Alicante and you are interested in Contemporary Art, pay a visit to this Museum. The entrance is free and the place is climatised which is a plus. You get a nice collection with mainly spanish but also some International work.
All plaques were in Spanish and English, mostly detailing the creation and concept of the museum itself. The interpretation of the art itself is left to the visitor. This is a relatively new Museum in a convert old building in the middle of the old quarter in Alicante. The Museum is bright and well laid out over 4 floors, it has a very good collection of Spanish contemporary art some well known and artist who deserve to be better known outside of Spain! Found the modern art confusing without some detailed explanation. However kept going until we reached the top floor and discovered several sculptures made from chrome and all spun around or moved to create dynamic images and reflections.
