Tony paced the walk perfectly. Our group of mixed fitness levels seemed to have no difficulty getting around. Borrow a hazel walking stick from Tony as you will need it to walk on the limestone slab. On a typical December day on the Burren, there was a good spirit of cameraderie amongst the group. Our visit to Saint Colman's Well... More

A friend and I joined Tony Kirby for St Colman's Camino during Christmas. As someone who regularly walks in the Burren, I have to compliment Tony's tour in the highest possible terms - his knowledge and manner were brilliant, the group was great and the route was very interesting as well as being suitable for a variety of levels of... We decided to go along on a whim and it was a fantastic experience all the better for being so unexpected.I had been to the burren before but never... More

We set out from the Burren National Park - carpark on a windy and wet morning. The conditions did not take from a fantastic and interesting day. We initially climbed to the top of Turloughmore and had some spectacular views of County Clare and Galway. We continued on the original pilgrimage route of St Colman Mac Duagh. Our guide Tony... The walk was very beautiful with geat views at times of Counties Clare and Galway. We visited the hermitage site of the Saint also the Holy well. I really enjoyed... More

The other members of the group were very welcoming to us. The guide was very proffesional and his comments on the history and the geography of the place... More

I jumped blind into this walk having seen a advert in the national press. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. Tony's knowledge of local flora, fauna and topography geology, history, farming and folklore of the Burren makes the whole experience interesting and enjoyable and it was no suprise to find out later that he has written... Our guided walk with Tony Kirby in the isolated Burren National Park was an exploration of this novel and fascinating environment accompanied by a most knowledgable and passionate professional guide. Tony's understanding of the geologic history of the Burren and his ability to explain it allowed us to appreciate his detailed description of the very special nature of the environment,... More

The rocky desolate topography of The Burren belies the complex geology and nature of this fabled wild west Irish coastal area. Our guided walk with Tony Kirby over some of the more isolated areas in The Burren National Park was an exploration of this novel and fascinating environment accompanied by a most knowledgable and passionate professional guide. Tony's understanding of... More
