There is, a little piece of Heaven, right here on Earth. A year ago I dreamed of going to Perivolas. 10 months later, I am now dreaming of my return next year. Peace of mind, magnificent surrounds and caring staff who attend to your every need can be found there. Whether you want solitude or a base for exploring Santorini's... more
Perfect little hotel with great views, excellent service, very nice and comfy rooms! Extremely helpful staff and a breakfast to remember on your private terrace overlooking the Caldera! Enigma is all you need for a memorable honeymoon. more
I recently traveled to Greece earlier this month with friends. We were told we HAD to stay at Hotel Mathios as it was exceptional & let me tell you it truly lived up to my expectations if not exceeded them!! Everything about this establishment screams beauty, cleanliness, stellar service, etc. I don't think I will ever stay any where else... more
Nefeles is the ideal accomodation in Santorini! Situated at the centre of Fira, it is walking distance from all the shops, restaurants and bars of the area. Magnificent view of the Kaldera and the volcano...a super romantic setting! Room was spacious: a minimal approach without, however, loosing its traditional touch of the cycladic architecture. Huge bath tub... :-) Breakfast is... more
I can't say enough good things about Aris Caves and Oia! Here's a breakdown: Room I went with my friend last summer and we stayed in Gonia (I believe it's Apt 5). Plenty of space for two people, quiet, very clean and comfortable. It had its own little kitchen which we used for tea/coffee and breakfast each day. A little... more
So, not only do you get the awesome location (walkable to everybody) but the service we got from them was amazing. I know another review mentioned that they could not take outside visitors in, but as a guest I thought that was awesome. People would stare at the roped off entrance, you feel special to be in there. And you... more
Staff is really very nice, helpful and thoughtful. The manger speaks English and German on a native level. You can park your car nearby. First we were in a smaller room - we liked it a lot (like in a movie or in a dream). We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to stay longer and moved in one... more
What a disappointment. This was the worst time during our vacation in Greece. This was the worst hotel I ever stayed at for several reasons. The room was depressing, ugly furniture, low lite, dark room, broken furniture, moldy bathroom, and mosquitoes galore. The Spa was dark, smelly and non welcoming. The location of the hotel was in the middle of... more
Where do I begin? The Sandy villas Hotel is THE place to stay in the gorgeous town of Perissa. Sandy is a magnificent host, carefully attending to each guest as if we were one of his own family members! Our room was comfortable and exceptionally clean and modern. Sandy maintains a fantastic garden around the hotel, creating a warm and... more
We took a caldera cruise that left from Fira, went to the volcano, hot springs, Thirassia (small island accross from Santorini), Oia, and bank to Fira. It was absolutely amazing! There are many different tour operators that give this or similar tours and it is well worth your time and money. The volcano is such a touchstone of Santorini it... more
This was a great place and far more impressive than I expected. I was pretty disappointed that Akrotiri was closed because I'd heard that this site wasn't as good but the ruins were far more extensive than I'd heard and far more in tact than expected! I'd recommend taking the local bus (around 1.50 E) to the local town (Kamari)... more
We stayed here 3 nights for our honeymoon in Feb 2010, being upgraded to the Diamond Suite. Fantastic view, one of the best location in Oia to have the caldera view. Free Wifi and great breakfast! more
This is very nice small hotel. The grounds are clean and spread out. The restaurant and bar are just OK. But there are dozens of places to eat and drink if you simply walk left or right. Pools are small but sufficient. Bathrooms are large and new. Beds were fine. All in all, just a good hotel. Now, Given the... more
Perfect location just steps from where the taxi's all have to stop. We stayed on the bottom floor of the hotel which basically gave us the entire bottom sitting area to ourselves. (there are 4 or 5 smaller sitting areas, 1 each level). The rooms are more than adequate. Mind you, this is the best location on the island. It... more
Actually ended up here a few years ago as an upgrade when our original hotel was double booked. Quiet hotel with amazing views, great food and car parking so the whole of the island can be enjoyed if you hire a car. The main hot spots of the island get very busy in the height of the summer and it... more
We had some fabulous meals here but be warned there is generally a line up so get there early if you have a group - actually even if there is only two of you. We went to Santorini late September and it was still busy. Another a great place for a cheap but delicious feed is Lucky's Souvlaki! Say hi... more
Firstly, the view is outstanding from Athina Suites. Our room was average size, clean and comfortable. We are not the type of travellers to use "hotel services" frequently so cant really comment on that, suffice to say when we did ask a question, the staff were friendly and very helpful. We were advised of some good resatuarants and take away... more
Academy special pasta, possibly my favourite pasta ever. more
We have never been more pampered than we were at the Icons. Each room has its own private balcony where the staff serve you breakfast each morning. The view was breathtaking and the rooms were very cool, which was a nice break from the heat of the Santorini afternoon. The hotel is on a cliff side, so it was a... more
