We had a rather torrid time of cycling to the Peonia from the airport and were getting rather depressed about the state of Cagliari. very central, 5 mins walk to Piazza Matteotti (main bus and a small train station plus tourist centre); city centre within walking distance, same with the Piazza Republica (another train station, with (indirect) trains to Mandas from where you can take Il trenino verde -an absolute must when on hols in Sardinia. hotel - no lift and a steep staircase... more
