Not that I am saying other La Tascas don't give good service but staff here were great, happy to help and friendly. I like La Tasca's informal dining style and tapas is a great, sociable way to dine. This branch does not disappoint! Excellent quality food and a great deal with 3 tapas dishes and a drink - wine or... more

Recently returned from a stay here on business. A lovely independent, charming hotel with lots of character. Great location for eateries nearby- La Tasca, Zizzis, All Bar One, pub grub, other little restaurants and take away places all within less than 5 minutes walk - some within spitting distance. I can only speak for my room but it was large... more

We had a 3 course evening meal for 2, with a pint or beer, a G&T and a coffee for £65 - not bad for the quality you get - both in terms of quality of food and service. It's nice that they automatically brought a complimentary jug of water and bread and butter to the table. The building itself... more

Wish we'd stayed another night to have the chance to enjoy a dinner there - we were basing ourselves here for a local wedding. Lovely, friendly service - fingers crossed for another occasion... more

We had breakfast and dinner here over a weekend and all the meals were very good. The outstanding food for me were the oysters. So big and plump and tasty. Scott was very knowledgeable about the wines and along with the rest of the staff very pleasant and helpful. It snowed heavily on the sat night and Scott arranged for... more

Our second stay here was just as good if not better than the last time. A very warm and sincere welcome, all the staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and comfortable situated to the back of the pub itself. The food is fantastic, beautifully presented and imaginative. We only stayed 2 weeks... more

Stayed here one night as a couple. Downstairs room that others have queried but not a problem. Large, well decorated and equipped, very comfortable bed. Service and breakfast faultless. Yes, rather close to moderately busy road but double glazing deadens traffic sound. Pleased that we stayed here. Ground coffee and cafetiere in your room - say no more. more

A group of us went for lunch at the Inn and had a wonderful meal. We recommend the pate, although you should ask for more Melba toast as the portions really are generous. The gnocchi was excellent and flavoursome. The mains of the steak pie and local vegetables was great and the burger a cut above the ordinary. Highly recommended more

Stayed on business for one night. Slight trepidation, as my last visit (some time ago) had been a nightmare. Fawlty Towers had nothing on my last trip... So, Treated the news of a refurb with slight suspicion..... Need not have worried, as the Duke's is completely transformed. Gone, was the lack of heating! Gone, were the taps that would not... more

We stayed at this hotel this weekend just gone. Having looked at the reviews on here we expected it to be quite basic, but it was even more basic than we'd imagined. That in itself isn't a problem especially at the bargain price we thought we were getting through laterooms.com. The problem was that there was NO HOT WATER!! Not... more

recently went to the Burlington Palm with a large group for a meal. cost us £20 per head for a 3 course meal. Service was prompt and pretty good, surroundings clean and tidy.
