I've been to The Rupert Brooke many times in the past few years. This was the most disappointing visit. Despite the cold there was no fire. Staff said the kindling was damp and they could not light it. At 6 the lights were dimmed further and instead of creating a cosy atmosphere contributed to ou r leaving early. more
