I recently had a chance to revisit the Gran Ancira. I had stayed there multiple times a few years ago (back in 1999-2003). A very limited menu of regional items with OK quality but a very high price. Beef is normally good, other dishes are not so good at all. Normally full of business people and many politicians, most of them with armed bodyguards very nearby (you run into these guys while entering the place, waiting for your car from the valet, etc)... more
This place belongs to a group of regional cuisine restaurants, such as El Granero. They are reliable, no frills places to get a very decent meal. Beef is good, service is very good, ambience is not so good. Appetizers are typical regional fare. Skip the desserts and do not drink the coffee. more
